The Staff Scientist is a reasonably experienced bench scientist who can utilize their technical expertise to lead technical work on-site in the lab and operate with relative autonomy. 

How you will contribute

  • Improve assay workflows for reliability and throughput;
  • Bring up new characterization protocols using commercial products, such as kits for total RNA quantification and RNAse detection;
  • Design in-line quality control measures and assay monitoring strategies;
  • Support collaborations and pilots;
  • Process samples for COVID-19 testing using LAMP and PCR amplification;
  • Train and mentor other team members.

Preferred experience

  • Familiarity running and optimizing molecular bioassays, such as LAMP and PCR;
  • Using primers and oligos (including ordering, resuspending, and creating dilutions);
  • Preparing stock solutions;
  • Data analysis and calculations.
  • Meaningful experience working in a clinical laboratory
  • BS or equivalent, Masters or PhD preferred

The Operations Manager will be the operations lead across the organization and be hands-on in supporting our collaborations and pilots. The ideal candidate has previous experience which will inform their problem solving and process improvements for our logistics, shipping, and inventory planning.

How you will contribute

  • Communicate and collaborate with a matrixed team to facilitate and ensure successful organization, implementation, and completion of projects;
  • Manage scheduling planning, implementation, documentation, execution and follow-up related to testing initiatives;
  • Identify potential problems and points of friction in areas such as quality, safety, document management and control, and work to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and reliability;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients;
  • Occasional travel to rapid testing deployments throughout the country.

Preferred experience

  • Strong analytical abilities to identify, communicate, and solve problems; 
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to quickly learning new skills; 
  • Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
  • Comfort working autonomously in a high uncertainty environment

The Lab Assistant position is ideal for a quick learner who can adapt to a variety of tasks in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate is a generalist with a can-do attitude that lends itself well to on-the-fly troubleshooting.

How you will contribute

  • Execute order fulfillment for our collaborations and pilots according to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Assist with lab prep work, including decontamination and sterilization of equipment according to our SOPs;
  • Maintain and manage Inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and equipment;
  • Calibrate and assemble lab equipment as needed;
  • Create and maintain documentation for internal processes and procedures.

Preferred experience

  • Experience and comfort with a range of digital tools and utilities;
  • High school diploma, some college preferred.
